Frequently Asked Questions

What is portal.just.ro? +
Portal.just.ro is the official Romanian courts portal operated by the Ministry of Justice. It provides public access to court case information including case numbers, parties, hearing dates, and decisions across all Romanian courts.
Is this court records search free? +
Yes. This tool queries the public portal.just.ro SOAP API at no cost. No account or registration is required. The data is sourced directly from the Ministry of Justice public web service.
What information can I find about a Romanian court case? +
You can find: case number (current and previous), court and department, case category and procedural stage, subject matter, all parties involved with their procedural capacity, hearing dates with outcomes and summaries, and appeals filed including the declaring party and type.
How do I search by case number? +
Enter the case number in the standard Romanian format: number/court code/year (e.g. 1234/300/2025). The court code identifies the court (e.g. 300 = Judecatoria Sector 1 Bucuresti). You can also search with partial numbers.
Can I search for all cases involving a specific company? +
Yes. Enter the company name or person's name in the Party Name field. The system will return all cases where that entity appears as a party — as claimant, defendant, or any other procedural capacity.
Does this replace legal due diligence? +
No. Court records are one data point in a broader assessment. A proper due diligence report also covers fiscal compliance, ownership structure, beneficial owners, financials, insolvency, and adverse media. We recommend using this tool as a starting point and ordering a full Due Diligence Report for any significant business decision.
